Sloane’s Discount Carpet Store Donates 5% to Colorado SafeHouse
Sloane’s Carpet Secret opens its doors every weekend to help those who need help in replacing or repairing their carpet. This past weekend was an extra special weekend for Sloane’s because it was our yearly SafeHouse Denver weekend. Our annual tradition is to donate 5% of revenues generated over a pre-determined weekend to SafeHouse Denver, a favorite charity of ours. The event held on October 12th and 13th was a huge success. “I am passionate about helping victims of domestic violence and their children,” says Scott Alban, owner of Sloane’s Carpet Secret. “And this is a great opportunity to lend them a helping hand.”
Scott is a strong proponent of local charities, namely SafeHouse Denver. Sloane’s is extremely excited about this opportunity to give something back to the community, and to be a part of such a great organization as SafeHouse Denver. It’s been our pleasure in having a longstanding partnership with SafeHouse Denver, and continuing to have regularly scheduled donation weekends.
Established in 1977, SafeHouse Denver is committed to providing the highest quality of emergency, prevention and intervention services to victims of domestic violence. Last year, SafeHouse Denver advocates and trained volunteers responded to nearly 11,000 crisis and information calls and 838 women received services through the non-residential Counseling and Advocacy Center. A total of 221 women and 106 children were provided with emergency shelter.
Our SafeHouse event this past weekend is something we look forward to every year. It gives us the opportunity to give back to such a great organization, and it gives our customers the satisfaction that 5% of their carpet purchases are going to such a special organization.
