Our manager Josh Alban’s grandparents first started their home decor business in 1951, when Colfax was still a dirt road. His parents opened Sloane’s Carpet Secret in 2005, promising to deliver high-quality carpet to homeowners, landlords, and realtors in the Denver area for huge discounts. As Josh puts it, “think Whole Foods quality at Costco prices.”
Sloane’s has been selling top-shelf carpet at unbelievably low prices ever since! Josh is the third generation in his family to enter the carpet business, bringing his Silicon Valley expertise to take the business to the next level.
The Sloane’s Carpet Secret
We named our company after the Sloane’s Carpet Secret, but we can’t seem to stop telling people what the secret is! How do we offer such low prices? By being the only family-owned carpet store on the entire Colorado Front Range to offer mid- to high-range carpets with slight irregularities.
Most of these irregularities are so slight that you can’t even see them — maybe the color of a batch of carpet isn’t exactly up to factory spec, or the roll is an inch narrower than the usual 12 feet.
In any case, we spend hours at a time at major carpet mills, examining irregular rolls of carpet and bargaining to get the best price. And since we’ve been in the business for so long, we have the connections to find the best carpets and the best savings, which we can pass down to you.
The best part is that our inventory is always changing and updating as we source carpets with the newest styles, colors, and materials. That means we don’t need to pay the overhead of hundreds of thousands of square feet of warehouse space, but we can still offer you unparallelled variety and selection. When you come in, we’ll ask you questions about what kind of home you have, whether you have children or pets, what your personal style preferences are, and how much money you’re looking to spend. With that, we can give you informed suggestions for the best carpets to fit your requirements — all without blowing your budget.
Once you pick out a carpet, we’ll unroll the whole piece for you to look at and point out the imperfections. If you don’t like them, we’ll keep looking! Only when you’ve seen and signed off on the exact piece of carpet that you want in your house do we pack it up to be installed.
